THE LATEST WITH KAAMORA

Line-up Changes
Many people would have worked out by now that Kaamora have been very quiet over the last couple of months. The hiatus occurred because both Aaron (bass) and Jason (guitar) left the group. The reasons why Aaron and Jase left the band is different and it is not our way to get involved in a lengthy explanation.

The band members and management just wish to express their thanks and appreciation for all the work that Aaron and Jase did developing the band and creating the sound of the first incarnation of Kaamora.

Rumours

What we want to address is the rumour that Kaamora is defunct. Nothing is further from the truth. On the contrary the remaining members of the band are working harder than before, to bring more chaotic, faster, and technical elements to the sound.

The band has much new material to resolve, heaps of jamming and auditioning to do. So it will be a wee bit before the band hits the stage again. The band wants to ensure that  large catalog of tunes is created so they can take the best songs to the stage. The sound is going to be heavier, which means, some off ‘Lambs to the Slaughter’ EP will not be brutal enough.  The band is not saying it will ages until they’re back, but when they do come back, some fans might be shocked. So be prepared!!!!

The band is positive that people will get into the new material and we hope to see you at the relaunch of Kaamora.  If you want to keep up the news about what is happening with Kaamora then ensure you are following this blog, twitter or even make sure you are friends on Myspace and/or Facebook.

Finally, again the band wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to the people that have supported Kaamora and hope you will some you future support by turning up to a gig

Will X, Luke and Dyl (aka Kaamora)

Band Positions

The band’s bass player position has been filled and who that person is will be revealed with the relaunch of Kaamora.  Obviously, the band is still seeking a guitarist with a passion for death/black metal genre. This means people into anything like Guns N Roses and similar ilke need NOT apply.  The band is after someone you can input another layer onto our dark sound.

Please contact the band through Myspace , Facebook  or the Kaamora website, if interested.

SCoRCHeR FeST: national festival for unsigned artists/bands

SCoRCHeR FeST Happenings:

Kaamora are doing two gigs in the national SCoRCHER FeST for umsigned bands.

ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA, DUKE OF YORK HOTEL, 21 MARCH

The first gig will be in Adelaide at the Duke of York Hotel, 82 Currie Street, which is in the CBD, on Sunday March 21st.  This will be Kaamora's first trip outside Victoria and basically this is a trip to promote the band to another audience.

SCoRCHeR FeST doors open around 11:00am and the even closes at 9:00pm. Tickets cost $15.00 from the venue ( Duke of York ) or the SCoRCHeR FeST people.  Kaamora hit the Balcony Bar stage around 8:40pm and will close the gig. The Balcony Bar is got to be by going UP or so the band has been told.

If you want the $10 ticket you can get it by going to the band's Big Cartel Store.

Hopefully, there will be some people there to see us.  If you do get to see us please take the opportunity to say hi: even tell us what you think of our music.  The band just hopes it doesn't scare away people like they did at a competition at the Espy Hotel in St.Kilda where Kaamora was the heaviest and brutal band in the mix.   :)

MELBOURNE, VICTORIA, ESPLANADE HOTEL (ESPY), 28 MARCH

The SCoRCHeR FeST moves to Melbourne on Sunday 28 March.  This time the event will be held in all the rooms/bars of the iconic Espy Hotel, Upper Esplanade, St.Kilda.  The venue has seen the blood and sweat of numerous national and international acts for many decades.  Indeed, the beer soaked carpet in the Gershwin Room enjoyed its own fame: reinforced by Rockwiz.

The SCoRCHeR FeST doors open at 12 noon and close at 1:00am Monday morning.  Again tickets cost the $15 if you get them from the Espy or SCoRCHeR FeST

As usual if you require the cheaper tickets you can get them from the Kaamora Big Cartel Store or from other bands performing in the festival

At this point the band has not been told the definite whereabouts of their gig at the Espy but they believe it will be in the Gershwin Room around 9:00pm.  The actual place and time of Kaamora's gig will be confirmed as soon as possible on myspace, reverbnation, and facebook

The band is hoping those people that have seen them at Vedette, Inflation, HiFi Bar, Arthouse, and The NoiseBar can get along to part-take not only in the music but being part of the SCoRCHeR FeST doco-drama that is being made about the festival.  So if you want you face on the vid get down to the Kaamora session and get brutal.

Kaamora hopes to see you all at the SCoRCHeR FeST.
